[영어 면접] 트렌드 변화 답변 구성 '예전에는 (a few years ago) 최근에는 (Recently) 변했다(has changed)! '를 입에 붙이자.

최근에 영어 면접을 봤는데, 커뮤니케이션은 잘했지만 답변 구성의 짜임새가 마음에 들지 않았다. 
준비하지 않았던 내용이라 즉흥적으로 말을 했어야 했는데 이런 경우에 장황하게 말하기 보단
할 말을 간단히 한 두 문장으로 얼른 말해버린 후 상대방의 반응을 기다리는 것이 좋다. 

에드테크 기업의 마케팅 직무였고, 마케팅에 대해서 이야기해보라고 하셨다.
광장히 광범위한 주제였지만, 에드테크 기업 답게 하기 내용을 중심으로 말을 했고, 에드테크 기업에 일하고 싶다고 말로 마무리했음.

A few years ago, the contents were important in the marketing field. Especially the message was really important. 
But these days the trend has been changed. Now, marketing is a totally different level. It's technology. 

(의역: 예전에는 콘텐츠 중심의 마케팅이 중요하고, 메세지가 중요했다면, 최근에 마케팅은 정말 다른 수준으로 바뀌었다.  
바로 기술을 이용하는 것이다.)

+필수 연습
예전에는 ~이렇게 말을 시작하려는데, 자꾸 before years 이런식으로 말이 튀어나와서 고치느라 애먹었다.
현재의 관점에서 일반적 과거를 말하며 시작하기때문에, Ago를 써야 하는데 
특정한 행동의 시점 전을 말하는 Before  가 나와서 너무 부자연 스러웠다.  황급히 ago 를 붙였으나 늦었다. 
면접자리에서는 트렌드 변화를 이야기할 일이 많다. 꼭 A few years ago 로 말을 시작하는 것을 입에 붙여 가자. 
글을 쓸 땐 실수하지 않는 것이 말을 할땐 실수하는 경우가 많다.
좀 더 자주 쓰는 단어를 말하려고 해서이다. 입근육을 적재적소에 잘 단련시키는 방법 밖에는 없다.

+ 추가 표현
변화가 클 때에는 a totally different level 혹은 It's another level 의 필러를 넣어주는 것도 답변을 풍부하게 한다.
이 표현을 언제 처음 썼냐면, 

I am okay to communicate in English but having an interview in English is another level!

단순히 어렵다고 이야기하는 것보다 다른 레벨이라고 하는게 표현하고자 하는 의미가 잘 전달된 느낌이다.
이를  different level 로 바꿔서, 앞의 답변 구성 처럼 면접 때 활용했다. 

+추가 답변 구성 
또 다른 면접에서는 내가 여행을 많이 다닌 것이 업무에 어떻게 도움이 되는지 물었다. 
아래와 같이 논리 없이 그냥 막 말해버렸다. 

나는 여행다니면서 굉장히 세세한 것을 잘챙겨야 했다. 특히, 여자 혼자서 다니는 여행이라 숙소를 고를 때도 굉장히 조심스러웠다.
이러한 점들이 업무할 때 활용하여 위기관리를 잘하고, 기대하지 못한 상황에 대처하는 것에 자신이 있다. 

During the journey, I had to be more detail-oriented. I planned everything. because I was a woman alone so I needed to check more carefully when I selected the accommodation, transportation and many things for my safety. So, I am confident with risk management and dealing with an unexpected situation which I might face when I work. 

이렇게 말했는데, 지금 다시 적어보니 말이 되는 것도 같다. 
그런데 갑자기 리스크 매니지먼가 나오는 것보단 위험을 예방하는 편이 좀 더 나은 것 같다. 다시 말한다면, 

I can imagine every situation which I might face.
I am confident to prevent the risk through this detail-oriented approach in managing project. 

+ Risk Management
면접 볼 때 중요한 것은 에피소드를 활용하는 것인데, 에피소드가 있다면 무조건 적극 활용해야 한다.

When I was in Russia, someone stole my credit card. I was so shocked. even I found that fact through the phone message alarms when that thief was using my card. I was panic but I tried to be calm and called the card company to stop my card service and asked how I can cancel the transactions claiming the wrong card usage by an unknown thief. he told me I need to report this accident to the police first and then I need to submit the police letter to the card company.  On the following day, I dealt with everything to get the police letter. When I came back to Korea, I submitted the letter to the card company and I could cancel the transactions. Like this way, I know how to deal with unexpected risk composedly.
